OUR LOCATION
We're in Northnern California indicated by the red arrow on the map. Click the map above to enlarge it. We are in the flat land of the Sacramento Valley where the soil is rich
and fertile for farming. The Sierra Nevada Mountain range is to the east of us and is visible from our house, and looking to the west is the Coastal Range of Mountains, also visible from our
home. There are many lakes close by us for recreation, and we are in-between the Sacramento River and the Feather River. The Feather River is just one mile from our house.
It takes one hour to drive to Sacramento, two hours to drive to San Francisco (depending on the traffic), and two hours to drive to Lake Tahoe where we enjoy snow skiing in the winter. Just a
few miles to the west of us is the Sutter Buttes (Pronounced with a long "U" sounds like the word "beautiful"), renouwned for being the "Smallest Mountain Range in the World." The photo below
is a beautiful breath taking view of the Sutter Buttes taken at sunset from Bald Rock Mountain overlooking the valley I live in.
Speaking of the Sutter Buttes, that is what our kennel is named after. Many years ago I was a Federal Express
courier and my route entailed traveling through the Buttes. One day while on my route, during a thunder storm, I had lightening striking across the windshield of my van and
hitting ground all around me. Therefore, my kennel name, "Donnerberg", is German for "Thunder Mountain".
